The social selling model is appealing to direct sellers because it’s flexible and doesn’t seem to require much time. However, very few direct sellers build a successful business in the nooks and crannies, and it’s not because it’s impossible or even hard to do; it’s because most people who work their business part-time don’t treat it like a business.

Most social sellers have a misconception about the relationship between time and their business.

Direct sales is a business, and businesses take time to build.

Businesses require skills. It takes the same skills to grow a big business as it does to grow a small one.

All profitable skills have a learning curve. That doesn’t mean they’re hard to learn; it means it requires training, practice, and time to learn them.

If you want to use the social selling model to grow your business, a large part of your job is creating and sharing content, and you have to make the time to do it.

In this episode, I give you an example of how, if you do it intentionally, you can create several pieces of content quickly.

I also talk about how planning your content makes it easier for you to share it consistently, makes your content cohesive, warms up your offers, helps you create it quickly, and leads to your feeling in control of your business.

I wrap up by sharing a timeline of when to expect results and how to get them. Most social sellers are never told about this timeline, and they give up before they see the results they are working toward. But when they learn to work with the timeline and how to make the most of it, they’re able to build a successful business in just a few hours a week.

I created a program for direct sellers that helps them use the social selling model to build a successful business in the nooks and crannies of their lives.
